What Loss Really Means…

Today’s post is about a LOSS.

However, let me be quick to remind you that without LOSS there would be no WIN. Agreed?

Here goes…

You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you get called in to see your manager for no apparent reason?

Yesterday, it happened to me for the sixth time, and I knew I was getting the sack (I’ve also quit 2 jobs. My track record on the job market is simply the worst).

Here’s the thing though.

I knew it’s not because of my lack of writing talent. It’s certainly not for the fact that I’m not engaging online or in person and certainly the decision had nothing to do with my dedication to realising the vision of social inclusion for people with intellectual disability.

So why did it happen?

Well because I’m not the CEO, that’s why.

How to avoid it from happening again?

I WILL NEVER WORK AS AN EMPLOYEE EVER AGAIN.

So when the universe tells you something and keeps hitting you upside the head with the same damn thing over and over again, it’s time to do a Myer-Briggs personality test, which does indeed reveal that I will have much better luck and earn more working for myself, and

KEEP ON DOING THE TOUGH WORK and when a JOB COMES ALONG, SAY “NO” TO THEIR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT AND PRESENT ONE OF YOUR OWN INSTEAD.

So… There you have it.

There’s my PURPOSE – to pursue SOCIAL INCLUSION AS A VISION but AS A FREELANCER and NOT AS AN EMPLOYEE.

What about you? What’s the ONE THING THAT KEEPS HAPPENING TO YOU?

How are you breaking out of that cycle?
